Course overview

This course is being run in partnership with Telford After Care Team

Course will equip learners to know how to:

  • establish an addiction recovery coaching relationship,
  • use communication skills,
  • understand potential risk factors for violence and aggression,
  • recognise signs and symptoms of overdoses and abused substances,
  • understand about overdose management,
  • make referrals as an addition recovery coach
  • understand record keeping requirements.

Learners will gain an Addition Recovery Support Level 2 (3 credit unit) – (Open College Network West Midlands)

You must attend the information session where we will provide further information about the course. 

Attending the information session does not guarantee a place on the course.

 

Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over to be eligible for this course.

The course is free if you are:

  • Unemployed
  • or you are employed and earn less than £16,009.50 annual gross salary

You will need to provide evidence of your income if you are employed and believe you are entitled to a free course. This could be a pay slip or contract of employment.

 

If you are employed and earn over £16,009.50 gross annual salary, you will be required to make a contribution of £84. We operate a fee remission policy, so if you earn more than £16,009.50 per year but think you cannot afford to pay for course you can apply for support.  Please contact us if you would like to make an application.
