Course overview

Please arrive early to complete enrolment at 9.15am and then the course will start at 9.30am.

The course is intended for anyone interested in gaining a qualification Food Safety in Catering. On successful completion of the course, learners will gain a Level 2 qualification in Food Safety. No previous knowledge is required to participate in the course.


Session details

You must attend early at 9.15am to enrol before the course starts at 9.30am and will end at 4.30pm.


Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over to be eligible for this course..

  • aged between 19-24 and Not in Employment Education or Training (NEET)
  • aged over 50 and unemployed or at risk of redundancy

  • employed and without a Level 2 qualification,
  • disabilities or special educational needs
  • a single parent with at least one child at home
  • Unemployed over 12 months

Due to funding criteria, customers can only undertake one of the courses in Emergency First Aid Level 3, Emergency Paediatric First Aid Level 3, Health & Safety Level 2 or Food Safety Level 2 in any one year 

If you are employed and don’t meet the above criteria or have undertaken one of the other courses above  the course is part funded by the government and you will be required to contribute £56.00.

Shrewsbury park and ride

  • Operates every ten minutes, Monday to Saturday
  • Provides free parking
  • Park and ride sites are located at Harlescott, Meole Brace and Oxon

Shrewsbury railway and bus stations

The railway station is just a two-minute walk from the centre, and the bus/coach station is a four-minute walk.
