This is a FREE introductory course to understand about children and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and provide an opportunity to learn more through a supportive and informative approach.

This course is intended for parents and carers of children or adults with SEND, or anyone interested in looking for work within this area to support someone with SEND.

During this course you will learn about: 

• types of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities such as autism, ADHD and learning disabilities
• support provided in schools and colleges for children with SEND
• Health and Social Care for SEND young people and adults
• local and national information for carers

Learners with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at the first session to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.

It can be difficult to make the first step into something new so on the first day of the course the tutor will welcome you and provide further information and details about the course.

There are 14 places available on this popular course and we will contact you to confirm your place before the course starts.

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2022.

Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.

The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol.
