This accredited course is for parents and carers who have a child that attends Holmer Lake Primary School.
The course is intended for those who are preparing work with children and also valuable in helping parents support their own children to learn.
The course is intended for those who are preparing to progress to working with children in a school as a teaching assistant, seeking work as a lunch-time supervisor or who plan to volunteer in a school.

By successfully completing this course you will gain a Level 1 Award in Employability and Development Skills (OCNWM)
Assessment is completed via portfolio work.
Learners will need to be able to attend at least 80% of the sessions to complete the portfolio and individual tutorials will be offered during the course.
The course is taught in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with an experienced tutor, and there is opportunity to meet and socialise with other in the group in a friendly, relaxed environment.
Learners with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at the information session to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.
Places are limited and registering
It can be difficult to make the first step into something new, therefore the tutor will contact you before the start of the course, and provide you with further information and details about anything else you will need to bring for the first session.
You need to commit to attending all sessions, unless discussed with the tutor before hand, to achieve the qualification.
This course is for parents and carer with a child who attends Holmer Lake Primary.
Parents do not need any previous experience although it will be helpful to have done the Introduction to Supporting Children's Learning before hand. Any parents with special needs can discuss these with the tutor at enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.
