Course overview

Do you already work in care or the health sector or want to take the first steps into a career in nursing or health care?  Join this course to boost your confidence in the numeracy that would be needed. On our FREE short course, you'll discover more about relevant maths skills under the guidance of our experienced tutor.

On completion of the four sessions, you'll take home a 2024 organiser and a nurses fob watch to help you practice some of the maths and plan your next steps!

In this course there will be activities that introduce topics including:  :

  • Measuring temperatures
  • Reading charts
  • Calculating time
  • BMI
  • Looking at measures

This course doesn't include practical nursing activities but it will involve practical maths activities to provide some foundations to the maths skills needed in these roles.

This course is supported by Multiply funding. Multiply is the Government funded campaign within the Skills for Life Strategy aimed at supporting adults to improve their skills and confidence with everyday maths for life and work. Session details

This is a 4 week course- You must be able to attend all sessions, to complete the course. 

Wednesdays 12:45- 15:00

You will need to complete an online enrolment to join this course. 

 

Eligibility criteria

This course is supported by Multiply funding. Multiply is the Government funded campaign within the Skills for Life Strategy aimed at supporting adults to improve their skills and confidence with everyday maths.

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2023

Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.

The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol on the course.
