This course is provided for adults who have children who attend HLC Primary School.
This course is a progression for parents at HLC Primary who do not have English as a first language. You will learn English in a fun and relaxed environment with an experienced tutor.
You will learn English in a fun and relaxed environment with an experienced tutor. This course is aimed at those wishing to improve their English language skills to help with day to day situations. Conversation practice, reading important documents and writing sentences will all be covered. This course is unaccredited.
This course is provided for adults who have children who attend HLC Primary School. However, if there are any learners without a child at the school wishing to join the course, it is at the discretion of the tutor and coordinator.
You will need to have at least 80% attendance to achieve completing this course.
This course is provided for adults who have children who attend HLC Primary School.
Adults do not need any previous experience. Any parents with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs. The course is available to all adults who have been referred from Child and Families services. If numbers applying for the course are high preference will be given to parents who: • Do not hold a full-level 2 qualification including English or maths. • Do not hold a level 2 Maths qualification • Do not hold a level 2 English qualification • Are unemployed or retired. • Are claiming JSA • Employed and looking to progress onto further Family Learning courses • Are parents/carers of children/young people who are entitled to free school meals. Parents who have been referred to the course for the purposes of improving their mental health and wellbeing

Learners will have opportunity to progress onto an accredited ESOL courses in the community or in the school in September.
