Course overview

This FREE course offers an introduction to Neurodiversity to help support you or those you care for in work or everyday life

During this course you will learn about: 

  • What Neurodiversity means?
  • How it can impact of a person?
  • An overview of associated conditions
  • Making reasonable adjustments
  • Caring for someone with Neurodiversity
  • Local and National Support

At the first session, if you have not done so already, your tutor will ask you to complete an application (enrolment) form.  Please bring a form of ID with you to the first session.

 

Session details

This course runs for three sessions.. You will need to be able to attend all the sessions to complete the course.

 

 

Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2024.

Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.

The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol.

Sutton Hill Community Centre is now part of Madeley Town Council. The centre offers a large hall and two classrooms available to hire, including computer access.

There is a community run café which offers a range of hot and cold drinks as well as sandwiches and snacks. Opening times vary.

The building is wheelchair accessible. Free car parking is at the centre along with local shops.

At the end of the course the tutor will advise you on further learning opportunities. You can search for more courses on our website www.learntelford.ac.uk which we regularly update with details of new courses throughout the year.

There are opportunities to progress onto other child related courses including Child Behaviour, Child Development Level 1 & 2, Supporting Children's Learning Level 1 and 2, Dyslexia Awareness Level 2 and Introduction to Autism.

For learners looking for work or who want a change in career, we can offer you advice to guide you in the right direction and opportunities to gain qualifications in English and maths in Functional Skills and ESOL up to Level 2.
