Course overview

This FREE course provides a short introduction to spreadsheets using Microsoft Office Excel and Google Sheets.

This course is suitable for learners with some experience using a computer or tablet who would like a basic introduction to using spreadsheets. The sessions will provide practical exercises and give you hands-on experience to see how spreadsheets can be used in the workplace and at home.

The course will support you to:

  • Become familiar with the layout and terminology used in spreadsheets.
  • Input data to a spreadsheet and make simple edits.
  • Store, sort, and filter data, making it more efficient and easier to use.
  • Find out how maths is involved in spreadsheets and how it can be used to carry out calculations.

Learners with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.

The course is taught in an informal and friendly environment with an experienced tutor.

Places on this course are limited to the number of computers available at the venue.

At the first session your tutor will ask you to complete an application (enrolment) form.  Please bring a form of ID with you to the first session.

This course runs for three sessions . Please check you can attend every session before you register for the course.

 

 

Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2024

Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.

The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol on the course.

Meeting Point House is wheelchair accessible and has a lift to the second floor, wheelchair accessible toilets are also available.
