Sensory Fun is a course for parents, grandparents or carers to work with their children who are in Early Years of school. The course aims to work with families who wish to develop and support their child's development and learning through sensory play activities.

The aim of the program is to equip parents with sensory play techniques and calming tools that support children’s behaviour and emotional regulation. Through hands-on activities like making cloud dough, play dough, sensory bottles, and coloured rice, parents will learn how sensory experiences can help children self-soothe, focus, and release tension. Additionally, the program introduces simple methods, such as breathing exercises, meditation, tapping, and yoga, that parents can use at home to create a calming environment and promote positive behaviours.

ALL RESOURCES WILL BE PROVIDED

You must be committed to attend all sessions of the course.

This course is available for parents with a child who attends Donnington Wood Infants and Nursery School.

Parents do not need any previous experience. Any parents with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.
