Course overview

This course is designed for learners working at Level 1 and Level 2.

It is particularly suitable for individuals who do not currently hold a Level 2 qualification in maths and would like to achieve a Functional Skills qualification. It is also ideal for those who may have previously gained a Level 2 qualification but feel that their current maths skills are below that level.

We invite you to attend an information and advice session, where our experienced tutors will provide an overview of our maths Functional Skills courses and support you in choosing the most appropriate option. If you have not previously attended one of our Functional Skills courses, you will be asked to complete a short skills assessment. This will help us ensure you are placed on a course that best suits your current ability.

During the session, tutors will explain the courses available and discuss your individual learning needs. Please note that you may be offered a place on a course at a different level or on a different day from the one you initially registered for, to ensure the best fit.

We kindly ask that you bring along any certificates or evidence of your existing Maths or English qualifications, as these will help inform our guidance.

Our Functional Skills courses are delivered across Telford in a range of community venues. Classes take place during school term time only, with both morning and afternoon sessions available. We offer four levels of maths Functional Skills, from Entry Level 2 through to Level 2, with the opportunity to work towards a City & Guilds qualification. Learners can also progress between levels, building skills step by step up to Level 2.

Please note that you only need to register your interest for one Functional Skills maths course. Our tutors will support you in selecting the most suitable course during your information session.
